Merwin Gallery Re-Opening (Members First Look)— October 30 through November 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day

  • This re-envisioned gallery allows us to share more of our 18,000+ object collection with the community.

  • Museum Members can explore the Merwin Gallery before it opens to the public with an exclusive Member's First Look week beginning on October 30. The Merwin Gallery will re-open to the public with a formal ribbon-cutting event on the evening of Friday, November 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a formal program at 6:00 p.m. 

Expert Insights into the Museum's Collection (Presentation)—Tuesday, November 28, in the Museum's Governor Fifer Courtroom at 6:30 p.m. 

  • Curator of Collections Jackie Cain will give members expert insights into the Museum's new online Collections Database, introducing new ways to engage with the collection and sharing some of the stories it holds. 

  • November 28 is also Giving Tuesday, the global day to uplift generosity for non-profits. The Museum will launch its Saving History Campaign on this day and offer our members an insider's view of how we are working to save y(our) history through various digital initiatives -- such as the Museum Collections Database, which makes the tangible history of McLean County accessible to all.

Gift Shop Discount – 20% off during the month of November

Throughout the month of November, Museum Members will receive 20% off purchases from our Cruisin' with Lincoln on 66 Visitors Center & Gift Shop, the Children's Discovery Museum Store, and the Miller Park Zoo ZOOtique – all you have to do is show your MCMH membership card! Additionally, throughout the month, new MCMH memberships and gift memberships purchased during November will receive a 14-month membership for the price of an annual membership.
